This was truly a revelation. I was getting started with funeral doom, working on something with my headphones on... Then came Déluge... my jaw actually dropped, I stopped what I was doing and, wide-eyed, just listened to the track, baffled and amazed. After the album was over (I never do this), I went to lay down with my headphones to enjoy it over again. I rarely heard (and felt) this much power and emotion in an album. Until I find something better, this is my landmark for peak funeral doom.

Shocking. They returned to their most melancholic path, without forgetting the most emblematic obscurities of their early works. Elaborate themes and compositions loaded with lethargic surroundings, a sepulchral numbness worthy of praise. The violin, the piano and the guitars amputate your skin until your body bristles. More than a year later and I'm still listening. September 2018 was the stillbirth of my first son at 27 weeks. This album has been a constant companion since it was released. Hopeful to its core. Brutal and hopeful. Crushing and cursed and by my side in the long dark hours of the night. Who could have known music could reach the depths of bones and sorrow. Thank you.
